Run your own Race
Hello Everyone, I’m back again to share more random thoughts.
Thought for today? Comparisons and competition!
How many times have you decided to do something, took the leap, and actually did it. Many of us have, right?
You took the time to research, plan, execute, and launch. Everything is going great, you’re proud of your work and all that you’ve accomplished and life is so much happier.
[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”52″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000000″]But, then it happens!………..You take your eyes off of what you’re doing to peek at what someone else is doing and ………..BAM![/mks_dropcap]
You’re overwhelmed
You’re overwhelmed by the progress of someone else. You become fixated on what they’re doing and began to question yourself “what am I doing wrong?” “Why am I not at this level yet?” “Maybe I should be doing what they’re doing because my way isn’t working.”
And there it is, in just a second, everything that you’ve worked so hard for becomes diminished by the bells, whistles, and glitter of someone else’s success. Self-doubt has you by the neck and you decide to run their race instead of yours.
So, back to the drawing board you go. You change things and your whole plan is different. Now you’re on your way to success, or so you thought.
Why are we doing this?
You’re not winning
After months of trying, and stalking your perceived competition with no success, you’ve become frustrated to the point of anger. You’re angry because you are doing everything that they’re doing and you still can’t catch up.
Sound familiar?

Run your Race
The reason you can’t catch up is because you’re running someone else’s race! You left your race to enter one that you weren’t prepared for and had no vision for. And guess what, if you stayed in your race with your own vision and not deviated you would probably be able to see progress by now.
I have done this before and it took many mishaps to figure out that I have to do me. I can’t win when I’m trying to be someone else. It’s just that simple.
Stick to your plan, your vision, your dreams and you will succeed because no one can be or do you better that you. Keep your eyes on the prize stay diligent and focused. It will happen for you. Practice patience and see your plans through.
And remember, when you’re running your race, do not look to the left or right. Look straight ahead so that you can stay focused on your destination. You will get there a whole lot quicker if you do.
Think about it!
And while you do, Be blessed and do everything in your power to make life sweet!
Love
Toni
So true Lady G, what we put out is what come back to us.
The sooner we learn this lesson the better.
Fact is, if you believe in competition, the universe will make sure you always have a competitor 🙂
Very inspiring post 🙂
Great one Toni. So true. Comparing doesn’t work or at least it doesn’t for us.
thank you!
