Respect: Loveable Quote #4

The illusion of respect is nothing more than false admiration for an entity that has created a position of power over the powerless. It is not True Respect.

Respect: Loveable Quote #4

Respect: The illusion of respect is nothing more than false admiration for an entity that has created a position of power over the powerless.  Never confuse it with True Respect.

Respect is something we all seek.  It may be respect from our kids, co-works, boss, or family.  It is a desired feeling we all want and need.  Some may claim that isn’t the case, but if you are human this is a normal desire.

To be respected is an honorable feeling and sometimes those who want respect try to acquire it by less than honorable means.  We have all met a bully who thinks that force is the way.  They feel that because they are bigger or stronger that all should respect him.

We’ve also met the man who has more material things than the next.  He feels that because he has more, the better car, bigger house, larger bank account, that he is entitled to respect.

Then there’s the man who has weapons terrorizing all those who don’t.  Walking around like he is God himself.  Ready to give a death sentence to anyone he feels is not giving him respect that he has not earned not deserves.

Respect

Respect is not taken it has to be given mutually. Many confuse the illusion of respect with the real thing.  The illusion of respect is nothing more than false admiration for an entity that has created a position of power over the powerless.  No matter how powerful you are over someone or something you will never gain true respect if you are not respectful.

Being respectful means to be kind, to be polite, to be mindful of others space, time, and differences.  It means to be tolerant, honorable, and to have integrity.  It means to treat all people no matter what their race,  color,  creed,  religion,  or sex the same.  Treat everyone the same way that you would like to be treated at any given time or in any situation.

So, If you believe that anything other than respectful attributes will gain respect, true respect will always elude you.  Aspire to be Respectful and you will in turn be Respected.
