How to increase Productivity and Rock your day!

Productivity!  Being productive is something that most of us would love to master.  When we put in the work we expect it to yield high results.  But,  what happens when input does not produce the output we’re looking for?

How many times have you felt like a hamster spinning your wheels and going nowhere?  Putting in the work and not seeing results can be discouraging and not knowing the reason for low output can be even worse.

Read:  Never give up! Your success depends on it!

Well,  I think that I can safely say that the most obvious reason for low productivity is usually lack of planning and organizing.  We’ve all heard this famous quote by Benjamin Franklin before………

Preparation is Key!

When we prepare life is so much easier.  The day flows better and we become more productive!  By making a plan and sticking to it,  we’re far better at staying focused.

Here’s how you can improve your overall daily productivity and rock your day!

Prepare the night Before

Start your day the night before.  Do this by making a list of everything you would like to accomplish the next day.  Take time out to sit a quite spot and manually write a list.  Don’t do it while you’re watching TV or listening to a radio.  Get rid of any distractions and make it in silence.  You will be able to focus and remember everything that you need to do the following day.

While making your list,  please remember that there is only so much time in one day.  Be realistic about what you can accomplish in a day and make your list accordingly.

Get up early

Get up early!  The earlier you rise the more time you have in a day.  Not to mention,  early risers get in time for breakfast which is a great energy boost for the day.  They also have added time for morning preparations.  This is great because it gets rid of the feeling of being pressed for time.

Use this added time to organize the list you made the night before.

Master your list/use your time wisely

So,  you’ve made your to-do list the night before,  got up early for added time,  and now it’s time to Master your list.

Now it’s time to organize it,  yes organize your list.

If you have task that require more of an effort,  do smaller task around them.  For instance,  if you need to meet with a client on the other side of town and you also need to pick up a few things from the store.   Find a store that is on the route of your meeting place.  Don’t go to the store that you always go to that’s in the opposite direction.  You’ll save tons of time.   Your objective is working smarter,  not harder.

Also try completing smaller task first.  Smaller task can be done with minimal stress and time,  so do them first.  The more smaller task you complete the more accomplished you’ll feel.  This will give you the motivation you need to keep going.

By the way,  don’t forget to scratch out task as they’re completed.

Give yourself a break

Lastly,  give yourself a break.  If there are task on your list that just can’t be completed,   add them to the following day’s list.

It’s ok.  You’re not a failure if you don’t complete your to-do list.

At the end of the day you can sit back,  check out your list,  see how much progress you’ve made and smile because you’ve just officially rocked your day.  And you did it by simply planning and organizing.

Try it.

You have nothing to loose,  but a little stress.
