4th of July: Dressed up Pork-n-Beans Recipe

Pork-n-beans and barbecue are a perfect pair in July.  Most of our backyard barbecues include them and this 4th of July is no exception.  The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays.  It’s a time when our family gets together and celebrate Independence Day.  This usually consist of music, lots of friends and family, some water sport, fireworks, and Great barbecue!  In earlier years we’ve enjoyed things like going to a water park, the beach, or just hanging out at home with water toys.  Why so much water.  Well, it usually hot on the 4th of July and the kids love it.  It’s a great way to cool off and have fun.

For the grown-ups, great music, good company, and delicious barbecue are the hit of our outings.  Every year we have barbecue with sides like corn on the cob, potato salad, and pork n beans.  This year I decided to serve a special pork-n-beans recipe that I learned from my daughter’s grandmother Ms. Luette.  She called it Dressed up pork-n-beans.  I called it Delicious!

It’s so Delicious that I would like to share it with you.  It’s very simple and easy to make.  I promise it will be a hit at your next backyard barbecue.

Recipe Notes

*Spices used:  Sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne.

*You can choose the kind of Bush beans you want.  I chose to mix two flavors that I love.

*You can use the kind of ground meat you like.  I used turkey ground , but beef is just as delicious.

* Also try these beans with the smoked Sausage option! This can be a stand alone meal served over rice or with bread.
